A Prayer for Waiting

Lord, I am tired of waiting rooms.
Tired of the in-between,
the not-yet, the still-unanswered.
But You have never once been late.

Every promise You’ve made has arrived exactly
when it should, even when it felt like forever to me.

Teach me to wait like Abraham, believing against what I can see. Teach me to wait like David, trusting You in the cave before the crown.

I don’t want to waste this waiting
being bitter about the wait.
I want to use it to know You better,
to grow steadier, to grow more sure.

You are worth the wait.
